Welcome to our Spring 2018 newsletter — and hopefully it’ll be getting warmer soon!
We have had plenty of compliments from you on our service. One of the great features many of
you tell us is that with CDAR you know you are safe and we are reliable. Spread the word!
Baby Finley arrives on Schedule
Our Manager, Jo, gave birth to a baby boy,
named Finley, on December 11th. Jo is already
back at her desk – congratulations Jo!
Working away: Jo with Kariann, Assistant Scheduler (with Finley snoozing on Kariann’s shoulder)
Outings and Days Out – and a challenge for you
You’ll find details of outings available for you overleaf. We welcome your own suggestions for outings with local groups or friends. Do let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
We know, and you know, that costs have been slowly rising. But we are pleased to say that our fares are not going up and we will keep it that way as long as we can.
A reminder of our rules:
Cancellations: A full fare will be charged for a booking cancellation with less than 24 hours notice.
Invoiced fares: There’ll be a £2 surcharge to cover the cost of sending an invoice.
Like the fares, the annual subscription is not going up and will remain at just £18 for the year (if you feel that you are able to increase the amount as a donation that would be great!). Please complete and return the application enclosed as soon as you can and not later than 1 April 2018.
100 Club Lottery – have you joined?
For just £2 per month you can have the opportunity to win a cash prize of around £80. Draws are made every three months in March, June, September and December. Ask your driver or phone the office for an application form.
Health & Safety
We have been reviewing Health and Safety for CDAR’s operations, keeping up to date with European Union legislation, and it’s important that you as users know that. You’ll notice that our drivers are wearing their new bright yellow “high-viz” jackets, making them very easy to spot!
Adopt a Minibus
We have started a new campaign aimed at companies in the private sector, asking them for a cash contribution to help cover the maintenance cost of one of our very hard-working minibuses for a year, at about £1,000 a bus. Two sponsors so far – do you know of a company who might help?
Drivers urgently needed
We are always on the lookout for more volunteer drivers to join our hard pressed team. You may know someone who has some time on their hands (retired for example) who could consider giving some of that time to be a volunteer driver – it’s a rewarding job!. Could you keep a lookout for such a person and get them to phone the office?
Leaving a lasting legacy
Would you like to think that others in the future could benefit from CDAR’s services? Could you help us continue to thrive in the longer term? One way is by leaving a legacy. We enclose a leaflet if you’d like to know more about it.

Please phone the office to register an interest and Paul Binsted, one of our volunteer drivers, who organizes these trips will contact you directly to discuss.
